I had a question on this bat, I'm not looking to purchase it, but it reminded me of a question I had. Aren't player model (legit gamers) always double dipped? I thought I remember hearing that you shouldn't be able to see the grain on a dipped bat. On this Griffey bat, you can clearly see the grain in the picture of the handle. Does this mean that it isn't legit?

I have black bats where you can see grain through the knob like this. I may be wrong, but I think double-dipped bats were only doubled through the upper handle, not the entire bat.

FWIW, not making any assertions about this particular bat, but I have bought many bats from Mike and all have been impeccable.

Here is some useful information on the topic from Brian (not on this specific bat):

Thanks Mike, I think that answers my question.

The "double dip" starts around 16-18 from the knob on bats. You will always be able to see grain the handles of our Smith finish bats. The bat looks good to me.

Thanks Brian, was curious how much of the dap was doubled dipped, and that answers it for me.
