    BMH: What Happened Here?

    Brian,
Can you tell me what happened to this Robin Yount fungo bat. The bat has the been stamped 4 times and wasn't finished. There's still excess wood on both ends where it was attached to a lathe. Also why is the year 2000 stamped on it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a set up bat that didn't get cut up.

Did all his fungo bats have the year on them or was this because it was a start up bat?

I have no idea why 2002 is branded on the bat. Could be from a different set up. Set up bats are used to make sure the brands will go on and that they are spelled and spaced correctly. Basically it's a practice bat, the keep a pile of them next to the brander.
