    Help With Glove

Need some help with this mitt. Has a name that is difficult to read. First name is Burton and it looks like the first letter of the last name begins with H then a U. Cant figure out the rest. Tried to research on Baseball library but could not find a match. Has a neat strap on the wrist. As always any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    Re: Help With Glove

    Hi

One player I found that might be a possible match would be:
Edward Burton Hodge (1942 - Philadelphia Phillies)

You might want to rub a little lanolin over the stampings - sometimes it helps bring out the stampings a bit more.

It could be a minor league player as well - there are gloves out there with player endorsements that never made it to the majors.

Do you know the manufacturer of the glove?

      Brett,
Thanks for the response. I rubbed some Tumi leather conditioner over the name again, still tough to read but it looks a little better. I could not find a Company name on the glove yet but Model is stamped on the palm, so maybe something will come through.

Forgot to update. Figured out what the name is on the mitt, Burton Hickles.
