I have a Seattle Pilots Game Worn Jersey that has been stripped and turned into a Brewers Jersey. It is dated 1969. I would appreciate any information that anyone could provide me. Kind regards

I'm thinking that it was recycled to the minors. Not familar with the Brewers using a "M" insignia.

Im pretty sure it was recycled to the minors. To beloit. I have gone to beloit manny times and it looks like the one they wore in 2002. some guy had a jersey on and it looks identical. I also believed they started using them in 1995-2003 as the farm team of the Brewers.

Definitely a minor league recycling in this case, although there also were a handful of 1969 Pilots jerseys (both that I've seen were home) that were carried over to the MLB Brewers in 1970.

I appreciate the feedback but I am puzzled because I have found photos such as this one clearly depicting the "M" on the warm up jackets. Any ideas? Could it have been a coaches jersey or something like that?http://www.snakejazz.com/detail.php?photo=39

This was definitely a Seattle Pilots Shirt. From up close you can see where the pilots insignia and lettering was removed. I am trying to determine what it was recycled in to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Ms have some similarity, but are not identical. The jacket version is wider than the M on the jersey. Plus, the jacket M looks to have yellow trim...the jersey version is a solid blue.

Fair enough. Do you have any idea which minor league team this may be? Thanks in advance.

kind regards

Possibly. The M could stand for Mustangs, as in Billings Mustangs, a short-season rookie league affiliate of the 1969 Pilots that was no longer there in 1970.

Buzz Stepehen (the player whose name appears in the jersey collar) never played in the regular season for the Pilots or Brewers, and his only Topps card (1970) shows him in a Pilots spring training uniform (team name in blue block letters on front with no sleeve trim).

My hypothesis is that, with Stephen not on the 25-man roster, and with Billings starting their season in June, the jersey never saw MLB use, had the patches on the sleeves and front removed and replaced with the big blue M (for Mustangs).

That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it, although I'm open to other possible explanations and supporting evidence thereof.

Although pictured with the team, Stephen never actually played a game for the Pilots, making this jersey even more prized.

Spring training jerseys are more valuable than regular season ones. Didn't know that; perhaps this should be moved to the Exceptionally Educational Threads section?

It also looks like the seller is inferring that a jersey he never wore is more valuable than one he wore all year. That's something I'd expect to hear from the writers of the failed stimulus packages.

At first I thought maybe it was a 1969 or 1970 Vancouver Mounties jersey but they wore different styles those years.

Here's a photo of Buzz Stephen wearing a home white Pilots jersey from Spring Training 1970, could it be the same jersey????
