Hi, just wondering if anyone can give me some information regarding this jersey. It's a vintage wilson authentic with the zipper. i believe its just a retail authentic, but did they come with the numbers back then or was it customized ? any idea on what something like this is worth as well ?

any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Is there an "83" box tag in the left outer tail? If so, it's one of a group of tagged salesman's samples Wilson made in 1983. The differences between these and the team-issued jerseys are incomplete tagging (1983 Phillies should have a name in collar and a tail tag which has year AND set). Also, the tagged samples do not have NOBs, even if thegame versions used them (as the Phillies did).

there isn't an 83 on the tail. was this an authentic that someone added the numbering to ? but it looks like a clean factory job to me so i'm not too sure. i really have no idea thats why i'm trying to get the opinions of the experts on this board. any approx. value on this jersey ? its probably near 30 years old.

The jersey appears to be a retail authentic based on the retail manufacturer's tag in the collar and no signs whatsoever of the jersey having been made for the team. Based on the "clean job" and the fact that there was no name placed on the back (incorrect customization), I would value it in the ballpark of $125-150.

Wilson tags used from 1978 to 1985

Back in the day, in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area, there was a company called Gold Medal Sporting Goods. They sold the style of jerseys shown and a nameplate could be added for an extra fee.
