Tony Gwynn Sr. reveals he has Cancer

Sorry to report Tony has a form of Oral Cancer. Sounds like he`s being treated with Chemo/Radiation. Tony in his words says they have caught it early & should expect to recover from it.

As a Cancer survivor, it`s about the scariest thing I`ve ever heard personally, just hearing you have the "C" word. Being a Native San Diegan, having followed his Career, I`m saddened to hear it.

I`ve met him several times, he`s always been very kind to me. I will Pray for the Gwynn Family & a full Recovery, hope you will do the same.

His prognois is excellant, he will not even take time off from coaching. There is a huge lesson to be learned here though, DONT CHEW TOBBACCO. Tony thinks his cancer is linked to having done so and Barry Bonds has stated that he feels his father's death was caused by the same. There are no studies proving it but it is very addicting and to all the kids on this forum please, please refrain from starting.
