Wayne is a big baseball fan so this isn't much of a surprise. I used to see him at many spring training games here in AZ.

Its not unheard of for sons of athletes to play different sports than their dads. Ken Norton Sr. was a great boxer, his son was a Super Bowl winning linebacker. Joakim Noah's dad was a Tennis Player who won a Major once. Are just two of the more famous examples.
