SF 49ers Collectors - Need Needed please....

Sorry for the grainy photo. From the Wilson Tagging Primer listed on this site, I assume this 49'ers jacket was made from 1978-85?

I believe the high-quality material (heavy, not light wind breaker type fabric) and size tagging (42 as opposed to L or XL) help establish this as a possible team-issued sideline jacket, but wanted to ask if these items and the logo add up to team-issued or perhaps just a retail item?

What would be a fair value for this jacket? It is near mint shape, with snap buttons and a waist draw string.

To give you the need :rolleyes: you need, the tag is indeed a 1979-86 tag. Bear in mind, however, that there were a few years in that time frame where the 49ers were supplied by Russell. If one of the 49ers experts on here could break down the Wilson/Russell years, this would narrow it down further.

The niners wore Wilson thru 1983 or 1984 I believe and then Russell thru 1989. In 1990 they went back to Wilson until 1995. In 1996 and 1997 they wore reebok.

Dave and Paul....thanks! I guess this might be from 1983 or 1984 then? In your opinion would this be team issued as opposed to retail?

Anyone have a guess as to value?
