Do you think that this event will have any banners, game used items such as jerseys, etc. or is it more or less what they said which would be a waste in my opinion? I thought that someone told me that the Spectrum had some "yard sale" before which probably included these items.

They blew it - They would have raised more money with Steiner doing the sale, huh?

As we've seen here in the last few days, it's all about the money. :D

Sweet opportunity for the fans. They're also packaging up the old Spectrum permanent seats in both Flyers and 76ers ticket packages. Might as well give the stuff to the peeps that pay the rent.

I had a friend that was going to go but had car problems and did not make it there. He told me a friend of his went and he waited for 2 1/2 hours and said it was not even worth it.That it was a total mob scene. And whats funny is people say this is great of them doing this for the fans. And most of them were talking about selling thier items while they were carring them out of there. And speaking of that, the photo of the guy carrying his items in a box is strange.Because in the guidelines it said you cant use carts or anything. That items have to be dragged or carried with no help from any other item.I guess they did not follow thier own guidelines. But then i wish they had done this when they tore down 3 rivers stadium in pittsburgh. It would saved me the $450 i paid for the stadium seast i got at thier auction.

I decided not to go as I figured it was not worth $25. Other than the guy with the hockey sticks in the picture above, I do not see any reason to go to this unless you wanted to be in the Spectrum for the final time. Anybody have any more info?

Hey Joba...
Now you can spend $450 on a Mellon Arena seat to match the 3 rivers one. ;)

Different strokes...

Here's a quote (Flyers board) from a guy who went.

I got there at 7:30am and there was about 300 in front of me. Not too bad I guess considering by 8:30 the line was wrapped around the lot. I ended up getting an 8 foot section of the boards and 6 chairs between me and a buddy. The atmosphere reminded me of the Phils parade - everyone was in a great mood and joking around all day. It was so completely worth going down there for me.

Yeah, kinda related to what I meant. If you wanted to talk to others and remember the Spectrum it would be worth going. I personally did not go to the Spectrum that much as the Sixers/Flyers were at the arena next to it. I did attend a Phantoms game or two, but I do not really remember the Spectrum. If you wanted to get good game used items, it was probably not worth it, and I would not have gotten there until closer to 9am.

I attended the Reading Phillies yard sale back on October 2nd and I thought it was pretty weak so this probably influenced my thinking as well. That event was free as well....
