I probably should've posted this here first instead of in the game used thread.
Mods, delete the other post if necessary.

Found this at a garage sale. The seller says it's "probably 1900-1910".
Any ideas?

Swtns -

I've collected vintage gloves on and off for about 20 years now...

The tagging - although partially gone appears to be a Ken-Wel tag - which did make Gehrig's mitts, but this is obviously not the highly sought after Gehrig 'zipper back' 1st baseman's mitt.

It is a nice example of a 'buckle back' pud (catcher's mitt) and probably does date in the early 1900's - possibly as late as the early 20's. The 2nd buckle (where webs now reside)is part of the clue in on that.

I own a few different Ken-Wel gloves, but not a catcher's mitt. If you don't mind (you can PM me) what did you give for it, and what are you hoping to get out of it?

All the best -

Smitty

Thanks for the reply Smitty. The glove actually sold less than an hour after I posted it and it's going to a good home.
