    1984 Rawlings tag variation

Bought a 1984 Cardinals jersey today with an unusual tag. The jersey is completely consistent with other Cardinals jerseys from the era except for the tag. As you can see in the photos below, the tag (on bottom) is a little taller and has gold lettering instead of black. Has anyone else come across this tag variation?

Just got an e-mail from one of my buddies with photos of an '83 Cardinals road jersey -- same slightly larger tag w/ gold lettering variation. Anyone else?

Wonder if it's a coincidence both tags are size 44...

Who were the players? ...that would be awesome if that was something Rawlings intentionally did for past gold glove winners (I know thats not going to be the case but more wishful thinking on my part).

Unfortunately, the jerseys belong to a couple of pitchers -- Ricky Horton (rookie season) and John Stuper -- so, the Gold Glove idea doesn't fit. I like the concept, though!
