Steiner was the source of this intriguing Derrek Lee 2010 Cubs blue alternate jersey, strip tagged set 16! Anyone who can post a photo/provide a link, it would be appreciated. I'm not questioning the jersey, just marvelling at how many sets were made.

I picked up a couple of Cubs jerseys and they had high numbers as well. I think the highest I got was 12. I am not sure if that means 12 sets total with the Home Pins, Blue Alt and Road Grays or if that is per jersey style

Dave, I don't remember Cubs set numbers going anywhere near that high, ever. I guess we can assume with the deal with Steiner, The Cubs have ordered many more jerseys than in past seasons.

Might as well cash in if you have the Steiner contract, right?

Joel,

Your point is a good one, and makes sense. Funny, though, as the White Sox, who have never had a game-used deal, one year had on their sale racks at SoxFest double-digit set numbers of such luminaries as Freddy Garcia and Ross Gload! I concur with your theory on the Cubs, but I wonder what possessed the Chisox to do it?

Noticed there was only a Steiner hologram and not a MLB holo. My opinion is game issued at best. Ive bought a jersey off them and the MLB holo that was on my jersey said not a registered holo number.... Got the run around from Steiner for about a month...... Not trying to bash Steiner but beware how things are worded with them.

As of this writing, eBay has two Braves jerseys, one of each Jones, with higher set #s.

There's a 2006 Chipper Jones that's been up before that is a set 5, as well as a 2007 Andruw Jones which is a set 9.

They both look good, but I wonder how much either one, particularly Andruw's, shows in the way of wear.

This is why I hope MLB tags more road/alternate jerseys in the future. I have bought several home Cubs jerseys from Steiner because they have MLB holograms, and I was able to look them up before buying them. With the alternate/road jerseys, it is really hard to tell if they are game issued or game used before buying them.
