Manny using a new kind of bat???

I saw this picture while trolling Gettyimages. It shows Manny using a bat i cannot identify during a game about 3 weeks or so ago.I know that Manny began to use SAM bats exclusively about 3 months ago and before that was a Louisville M9 guy.I also know the batting habits of all Red Sox players and have never seen this bat before.Anyone know the make of this bat??

    Hi Jon,
I think its a Marucci bat www.maruccibats.com. Like you, I've never seen Manny use this. I've seen Carlos Beltran use them alot lately.

Looks a bit like the Marucci bat logo.

Adding onto what was mentioned earlier, Manny's name is under the list of players using Marucci bats.

Manny Ramirez has used Marucci bats is the past. Here's a photo of him from 2005 with a Marucci.

I remember seeing a Marucci for sale on ebay a while back with Manny's name on the barrel. These Marucci bats with his name on the barrel are a tough find.

Manny likes to use Miguel Tejada bats, Tejada is listed as a user of Marucci bats on their website. This could be the reason that Manny Marucci stamped bats are hard to find, because the Marucci bats he uses in games are probably Tejada bats.

Another hard to find bat is a Manny Ramirez Mash bat. Manny started using Mash bats during the 2005 season. Manny borrowed teammate Edgar Renteria's Mash bat and liked it and was hand delivered a bunch by the owner of Mash bats prior to the 2005 all star game. He used them for a few months and that was it, never used them since.

Re: Manny using a new kind of bat???

                Jon,

No problem on the Tek bat.

I been collecting Manny for several years and try to find out what bats he uses from game to game.

That photo you posted of Manny with a Marucci. I believe that bat has his name on the barrel.

Marucci stamps the players number into the knob. If you look at the getty photo of David Ortiz vs the A's on July 24th, you can see Manny's bats on the very top, one of the bats has 24 stamped into the knob and has a taped handle. The photo you posted of Manny holding a Marucci is from a game vs the A's on July 26th, notice the taped handle and a stamped number on the knob, most likely the same bat in the Ortiz photo. Below Manny's bats are Jason Variteks Rawlings bats labeled with his number 33.

If you have any questions on any Manny bats please drop me an e-mail.

                Best Regards, Bobby
