Are these cleat marks or some other damage to the bat?

Not cleat marks... I think somebody started whittling it into a wooden spoon then decided it wasnt worth the effort and gave up....

Ok, so do you think that was from Fermin or a collector.

Perhaps BMH could verify. But in 2004-05 there were problems with the paint chipping. Possibly this could be the culprit. I have a few black bats with chipping.
              Thank you,

Ya this bat is from '94-'95. It wouldn't bother me if it was from Fermin, I just don't want a bat that was damaged by a collector.
