Very Scarce Patch

Whomever won the John Roper #55 Bears jersey that ended on eBay Sunday night got a nice item. The making point of it: the patch shown below, worn once, in the Bears last home game of '92, as a tribute to retiring LB Mike Singletary. To my knowledge, it was the first "tribute" uniform patch for a living athlete in the 4 major sports.

Nothing to do with the jersey itself, my dad was college buddies with Singleterry. They both went to Baylor and I think my dad was a year younger then he is, but they hung out and apparently pulled some pranks on a dorm across the street from them.
