    Mets New Equipment Manager

In todays New York Post columnist Dan Martin ends a piece on K-Rod by writing that Met Minor League Equipment manager Kevin Kierst has been named the equipment manager for the Mets:

....The team also has added a traveling secretary and hired Kevin Kierst as clubhouse manager... . Hiring a new strength and conditioning coach is "next on the agenda," according to Alderson.

Kevin worked his way through the ranks and apparently earned a well deserved promotion. A lover of the game as evident from his recent vacation photos:

Well I guess in the Mets case you become a clubhouse manager by being a known entity, having done the job within their system. Word of mouth was good. Someone they could trust, someone who could pass an all points check, having fit that bill the only matter becomes is he willing to move to New York for the season and travel. Good luck to him and the Mets.
