I was recently in talks to purchase a game issued jersey from another member, it is a HOF player and he wanted $3000, I offered him $500 and he said I was low balling him. Mind you, this ia game issued, not game worn. Was my offer too low?

Depends on the player

Yes. Definitely depends on the player and again how much you really want the jersey.

it's for a Brett Favre game issued Packers jersey. Thanks for the help!

$3,000 for an issued favre? That's insane, you could probably talk anyone who works in New Berlin to backdoor one fore way less and on top of it, his game isseued ones don't look all that much different from a retail authentic, certainly not $2800 more.

I think game "issued" really has a value if it actually WAS in the player's locker at one point, which would be next to impossible to prove.

jake33 is right, that's pretty outrageous to ask for does it come with any team documentation to back its legitimacy as game issued?

Yeah think of how many cool worn/used items you could buy for 3 grand.

500.00 was a fair offer in my opinion.

I agree. It also has value if there are no game used jerseys on the market. Let's take game used fielding gloves, for example. Bagwell kept all of his, so a game ready is the best you can do. Therefore, I dropped $1250 on a game ready glove a few years ago. Even though it was a lot of money, I don't regret the purchase one bit, because I cannot acquire an actual gamer glove of Bagwell.

Jeez. To think I balked on a $40 game issue...Again, i agree that it would depend on the player. If I had an excellent chance to get it signed I may pay a bit more...

Mark.

I made a deal once to buy a game-worn 2001 World Series Matt Williams home jersey for $3500, but the Seller backed out. That's more than four times what I've ever actually ended up shelling out for any one jersey. I paid slightly less than that amount for four Justin Upton minor league jerseys - my largest actually completed jersey transaction.
