Baseball jersey display ideas, best practices

Hi All - are there any valuable threads to direct me to regarding the best way to display a jersey and some of the unwritten rules on how to do it?

Everytime I search I get an error message!

Also if you have any suggestions where to shop around for the right display.... thanks!

I always loved this style for a game used jersey.
Because it could display the tags in the front and be able to show off the name on back.

Personally I am a big fan of Homeplate Heroes.
WE ARE THE LEADING COMPANY FOR HANDCRAFTED DISPLAY CASES We have Display Cases for all your sport collectible needs. From stock styles and sizes to

I have purchased several cases (custom case, jersey cases, bat case, etc) from them and have always been happy with the workmanship and results. Their jersey cases are not cheap but they look great and allow you to rotate jerseys while offering UV glass and locks for the doors. Just my two cents.

I own two jerseys (more of a bat guy), and have them displayed on a mannequin torso form.

I'm a fan of mannequins - but, it depends on your show space, lighting, etc.

I have two (2) jersey cases that were purchased at a store here in the Denver Metro area that is no longer in business. They were made by a guy in Minnesota - if I can find his info, I'll post it on here.

Here's the frames (in my loft with my Modano Jersseys):

They hang over the desk. I'm not a big fan of frames as once the jersey is sealed in a framing, you aren't getting it back out without some hassle and I have seen jerseys removed from frames after years of being inthere and the side facing the glass is either faded or toned and the other side still looks like brand new.

At least with a case, you can take the jersey out, turn it around, etc.

For my money though, I still prefer mannequins:

Especially when making 'locker style' displays. The jersey hangs freely, you can see all angles of it - it doesn't get creases from being encased - just a matter of choice I suppose.

My 'Lockers' are $25 Black 5 Shelve Wal-Mart specials. The Mannequins I have obtained on Craigslist when local stores are going out of business, at TeBo - a Retail Display company - at Garage Sales, etc.

          Hope this helps.

          - Smitty

Greg, my two 7-bat cases are from Homeplate and that's where I was thinking of going again. I'm actually authorized to sell their stuff if anyone wants anything?

If I want to display the back of the shirt but gently turn the front sleeves out so they show too... will that be possible without doing anything crazy? Would also like to display the tags on the front with a gentle turn.

Do you guys who do mannequins have them enclosed at all? I can't tell from the pics. I know we have 2 cats and a lot of dust at home.

            Thanks!

I have used pins to pin the jersey back to show tags, etc. if you fold the jersey right they do not show at all.
