I know there are a number of Mauer GU bat collectors and thought it would be interesting to see what all is out there.

Cool idea for a thread! Good to document this stuff for future/current Mauer collectors.

Here is mine that I got from Chris (staindsox) who's a great Mauer bat collector. It's a rare error bat that was probably used late 2007-early 2008. Only pic I know of of him using a bat like this is from spring training 2008. Has great use! Would love to find other bats from this batch, to see if there are more error bats out there or if there are bats from this batch with his name printed.

The error bat looks like the barrel had been taped at one time

You'd think so but the barrel is hammered with plenty of ball marks.. and the coloration isn't as dramatic without a camera flash. I wonder if the bat was stored at some point with the barrel being hidden from sunlight/elements?
