    Louisville Slugger Labeling

When did LS start putting the team name under the player name vs. just louisville slugger. I'm looking at a bat I'm told was used 1994-1996 with louisville slugger below the name and I'm trying to pinpoint the timeframe. Thanks!

Team names started in 1991 on MLB bats. Minor league bats have "Louisville Slugger" under the player's name. If your bat has "LS" instead of a team name -- and it's definitely from the '90s -- then it's a minor league bat.

Can modern minor leaguers get the name of their big league club under their name?

I know they can, but I don't know if they all do or not.

While the team names on LS bats began in 1991, the last year of MLB bats using the LOUISVILLE SLUGGER notation was in 1989. In 1990, neither the company notation nor the team name appeared...the third line was left blank.
