The guy selling this bat insists to me that it is an authentic game-issued Will Clark bat, but I have my doubts. Here are some photos:

He tells me that there is nothing written or stamped on the knob, and, as you can see, there is no model number listed after 'Genuine' on the bat barrel. As far as I know, Will Clark used a C271, and the lack of a model number on the barrel of this bat is what really makes me question that it could possibly be a game-issued model.

When I initially asked him if this was an official game-issed bat, this was his response:

This bat was picked up in 1995 when I was visiting kentucky. Chuck Shupe who was the major league bat rep for louisville slugged and at that time they only had one rep. Well when I was coaching at kentucky I worked with chuck in ordering bats for UK and we became friends. This bat was returned by will clark it was one of 6 bats that he returned because as the season got longer he needed a lighter bat. No stamp on the end. This is the real deal.

He also further listed his credentials, so to speak, as reasoning for why he would be in a position to obtain these materials:

Played at Mississippi State
Assistant coach LSU 81-83
Assistant Coach tennessee 83-87
Assistant Coach Kentucky 87-91
Assistant Coach VCU 91-95
Scout Cleveland Indians 1999-2001
Founder Richmond baseball Academy 1995-2011
Justin Verlanders Coach 1996-2002

When I asked him pointedly if it was a reproduction, this is what he said:

This Bat is an original Will Clark bat made by Louisville slugger. This not a remake as the remake has a larger 125 this is the small 125 also there is no number on the bottom as that would mean it was store bought.

When I asked him why there was no model number on the barrel, he replied:

I can only guess that there is some difference in this bat meaning that will had s change made to it and there is no number giver to it.

He wants my final answer by tomorrow, and I don't want to miss out on it if it's the genuine article, but, at the same time, obviously, I don't want to get dupped into buying something that's not an authentic game-issued model.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone could tell me definitively whether this is a game-issued Will Clark bat or some sort of a show bat, reproduction, etc.

It's not a game model bat. There would be a model number above his name for this bat.
