In all of his years with Boston, Roger had 1 AB during the regular season and 4 in the post-season.

i'm not questioning the item. i simply can't figure out why clemens' hat would have pinetar on it or why that's a "clemens trait".

        - if clemens were batting, he'd be wearing a batting helmet. pinetar would get on the helmet, not the cap.

        - if clemens was pitching with pine tar on his brim (and thus his fingers) then he must've gotten it on the ball. isn't it against the rules to put a foreign substance on a ball (other than the regulation mud)? how's clemens putting pine tar on a ball any different than gaylord perry putting vaseline on it?

        a mystery i can't solve. anyone?

Any chance it's rosin buildup (which is more logical) and Leland's was slightly off in their description?

based on recent pitcher being questioned on pinetar on glove, it's probably a glove to face to hat motion for the catcher. as you get older pitchers use pinetar to grip the baseball better.

its not illegal unless it excessive pinetar.
