Any thoughts on this Rollins Jersey (lot 34)? The trouble I have with this Jersey is that it lacks either a 2008 world Series champions patch or a Harry Kalas patch. I think all phillies jerseys in 2009 has one or both.

When I asked Hunt about this they said it has a Phillies COA and thats all that they need.
The Jersey sold for $650

I believe the Phils only wore the champions patch for the first 3 months or so of the season. I have a Werth that has the champions patch but is void of the hk patch as it was moved along before Harry passed. Hope that helps.

Quick look at Getty shows the Phils wearing the WS patch on their jerseys during their home opener on April 5, 2009. They added the HK patch not long after and wore that the rest of the year. This might be team-issued at best unless it was worn during the opening series of the year and had the WS patch removed for some reason? The fact that it comes with a team letter means nothing as well.

They opened the 2009 season with a special jersey that had a gold underlay for the opening game. Harry passed away soon after Easter and as b.heagy noted, the WS Champs patch was worn for every home game for opening 3 months.

Could the jersey possibly be from an "on-deck" game that they played at CBP prior to the home opener?

Not sure what to make of it either, especially since it has a letter from the Phils and to hunt "that is all they need."

Thanks for the input guys. I dont feel that this can be in any way a 2009 game used Jersey.

Given the fact that the Phillies only began year tagging (box tag inside tail end of plaket) in 2008, and that cool base home jerseys were first issued by Majestic in 2006, is it possible that the year cited is in error, and that this is a 2006 or 2007 jersey...?
