To the Yankee bat experts in general and Mantle experts in particular, does anyone have any thoughts on the validity of the Mantle (lot 1403)index bat in the May REA? Mears is usually generous with their grading of index bats and a MEARS 8 seems high on a bat that was likely not used by Mantle. Additionally, the confusung and dueling "7s" makes me suspicious.
