Late in posting this, as it is not a May pickup but wanted to post it as it qualifies as one of the centerpieces in my GU bat collection.
1965 Don Drysdale H&B K55 Model
It hit a number of key points for me:
-a specific order in June '65 listing "mark weights" of just 6 bats, written on knob along with his uniform number
-second owner of bat now, coming with letter of provenance from Cubs groundskeeper stating direct acquisition and in his possession all this time
-extremely heavy overall use, especially for a pitchers bat and it really looks even more distinct in person
-used in year the Dodgers won the WS, Drysdale won 23 games that year and was an incredible hitter....
He hit .300 this year, only guy on the team, along with hitting 7 Home Runs and knocking in 19, all in only 130 At-Bats too.
