New Era baseball cap stitching change

Sometime in the late 2000's, the stitching changed on the top of the bills of New Era baseball caps. The caps used to have stitching done with a thread that was more white in color so you could easily see the stitching. After a certain date, New Era began to use darker color stitching that totally blends in with the color of the cap and is not noticeable.

When did this change occur? I have noticed this change in particular on Phillies game caps, but I am sure it was an overall change by New Era.

Any help would be most appreciated. It would be best to email me at goldstein@goldlaw.com since I often forget to check here for answers.
