Times are tough... A Has this happened to you?
The item had everythinig you look for:

1. Photo-copy of a letter of authenticity
2. Verbal promise that the item came from a trusted clubhouse staffer (for example, a bat boy)
3. Fresh stitching on the jersey flaps
4. Jersey dated after the documented death of the player.

I was sure the jersey was fake...but then I discovered the awful truth. Real!!!!

As one who collects fake stuff and then, to make a buck, dumps it on the market, I have been disappointed in the proliferation of genuine stuff, especially on this forum.

So collectors of real stuff, hang onto it. You're messing with my business.

Well, I tried to buy some of your fake stuff by sending you both an email AND posting on your classifieds thread.

Looks like I'll have to find some other place to spend my real money.

Let me just clarify that I was poking EurekaDave a bit.... He is known here for selling excellent items and has a good reputation in the hobby. I look forward to doing business with you down the road, Jason.

Jeffredsfan, this thread is a tongue-in-cheek response to a thread EurekaDave started a few days ago.

I bought a 500 HR Club signed baseball on eBay in 1998 for $250. I thought all of the signatures looked good, but I didn't really know what I was doing and thought I was getting a steal. Turned out to be the most expensive batting practice baseball I ever bought.
