Is there any way to erase black sharpie from leather shoes? I found some shoes I want to buy but they are personalized to someone and I would like to erase the personalization if I could. It appears that the sharpie is on white leather. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Not sure if this would work or not, but I've used this trick at work.

I've had some not so smart co workers use sharpie on dry erase boards, only to find it wouldn't erase after they use it. I run a dry erase marker over the sharpie and wipe it right off. Like I said, I don't know if it would work on shoes, I guess it would depend on if the sharpie had penetrated the leather at all, or if the ink was sitting on top of the leather coloring.

Possibly try using a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. It works for any other type of dirt/stain on shoes.

Don't be mad if it doesn't work... but in similar circumstances I have used the product, "Goo Gone" or something like that to get rid of sharpie on different materials. Not sure about leather...

Test it out on something else first if the shoes are very important.
