Picked up this absolutely hammered Adrian Gonzalez Trinity bat recently and judging by the game use it must have been a favorite of his.

The bat was used almost the entire month of May and retired after suffering a slight upper handle crack, either Gonzalez or a club house person wrote "Early May 2011" on the knob.

I'm not done yet but so far I photo matched the bat to a HR on May 6, 2011, it was Adrian's 3rd home run of the season and his 2nd HR at Fenway park, also his first ever home run over the "Green Monster" wall in left field as a Red Sox player: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=14527387

Also photo matched the bat to a game on May 11, 2011 vs. Blue Jays in which he hit his 7th HR of the season and on May 16, 2011 he hit a walk off game winning double in the bottom of the 9th vs. Orioles.

Finally was able to get it closed on the Al Cowens glove. I think its from his Mariners years around 83-84, but he also used the same style with the Royals back in 1977-80. Hoping to research some more once I have it in hand. Heck, he may have used it for several years... Hopefully I will know more in a week or two.

Please note that the "Y" in Bryant in the back of the jersey is placed slightly below as compared to the other letters, thereby creating a misalignment among the letters. "Kempman" bat used by Andre Ethier during his 30 game hitting streak. The bat was broken on April 15 2011, and can be also photomatched to earlier series vs Rockies, Padres and Giants. Andre Ethier used this bat to hit 13 hits in 10 games (April 5~15) including his 99th career HR by this bat on April 9.

Thanks for the reply. But I disagree with 1992. The labeling is same from '83 to '97. Carter played with the Expos through 1983. The bat records indicate the only 34 inch length C243 were indeed '83 and '92. But in '92 his orders were 30 oz. And black finish. Mine is 35 oz. And flame burned which is 1983. Thanks.

They did have some pretty good deals this year! I got a McCann game worn jersey too for $150!! They were also selling McCann game used bats for $100 each, and a Derek Lowe jersey for $100. Me and another forum member bought those. The jerseys from today's auction (the Heyward, Jurrjens, & Freeman) were still cheap but at the same time a lot of money. I ended up spending a few grand this weekend. Hopefully you can take a trip out here soon though!

Johnny Bench Rookie era bat from '67-'68, H&B model R161

Nice caked pine tar up the handle, with extremely heavy use over the entire barrel, many deep seam marks and ink transfers, along with a vintage late 60s variety Bench signature on the barrel. This completes the last era of his bats missing in the collection.

Minnesota Gophers early 90s Gophers helmet worn by star RB/FB Tony Carter. Tony went on to play HB for the Bears, Pats, Broncos, and Packers. The Gophers only used award decals for one season and this is the only known surviving example with award decals that I'm aware of. I've owned it for about 2 years after purchasing it from long time Gopher collector, U of M athletics volunteer, and friend Pete Chubb, but just had it shipped down to me from my partner's place in St. Paul.

Just got my first MLB game used items today. Renee Krebs with the Brewers is simply an outstanding person, very easy to work with and very reasonable. I managed to pick up a gamer from my favorite hottie, Gabe Kapler, along with a retro helmet from my favorite current Brewer, Rickie Weeks. (And yes, that is my Weeks shrine. Poorly painted uniform back and all, LOL! It was my first attempt, okay? :D )

Still working on picking up a Weeks jersey to round out the collection, though. We shall see....

They did have some pretty good deals this year! I got a McCann game worn jersey too for $150!! They were also selling McCann game used bats for $100 each, and a Derek Lowe jersey for $100. Me and another forum member bought those. The jerseys from today's auction (the Heyward, Jurrjens, & Freeman) were still cheap but at the same time a lot of money. I ended up spending a few grand this weekend. Hopefully you can take a trip out here soon though!

I just received one of my coolest jerseys today. A 2010 Boise State Broncos blue home jersey worn by #32 Jonathan Brown. Brown is a kid from my hometown who attended my old high school and now plays safety for the Broncos. BSU Athletics was kind enough to donate this jersey to our upcoming Alameda Sports Exhibit. The jersey shows good wear with a few nice hit marks on it.

The Nashville Predators had their annual equipment sale today, and, minus the staffers being able to buy things in front of us before the season ticket holders could even look at anything, I came away with the following:

Ken Griffey Jr. - '97-'98 LVS C271 model

This one has the sort of extreme use I had been looking for on a Seattle era LVS bat. There is nice pine tar on the handle, very heavy overall barrel use, with numerous seam impressions, ball marks, ink transfers and the most cleat marks I have seen on one of his bats.

With the Orioles, you can never be entirely sure of anything, but that nameplate doesn't look right to me. Looks like 4" letters when it should be 3"...

Picked up a couple more Victor Martinez uniforms including the Detroit Stars Negro League uniform (hat and jersey) as well as the TBTC uniform (hat, jersey and pants) worn this past weekend.

I also purchased a pretty cool item in the recent Lelands auction. Herb Score's Scorebook from the Indians 1996 season. It is a pretty cool item in which Score kept score for every game from the 1996 season. In addition to the general scoring it has all kinds of other interesting details like weather, rain delays, etc. The Indians lost in the first round that year but had a great regular season and several HOF players on the team.

What I like about this vintage jersey is the fact that its now a retired number for Billy Williams.

Wilson made all Cubs knits from 1972-86, and all would have the manufacturer label in the collar, above the long strip tag. A lot of those in that era were sent down to the minors, and the Wilson tags on a few of 'em apparently became disengaged due to all the launderings.

At $3, still a buy. The Champion tag would indicate mid-late 1980s issuance, so the jersey is at least 22-25 years old.

Just got this in the mail today. Some of you might remember that a while back I was asking about the well being of Jim Themelis. Well, he's had some health issues but he is still live and kicking and was able to hook me up with this Peoria Chiefs game used jersey from the early 1990s. It was a recycled Jerome Walton Cubs jersey from the 1990 season. The ASG patch was removed and replaced with the Peoria Tricentennial patch. The patch needs to be glued (it's rubberized, I've never seen anything like it) but otherwise the jersey is in great GU condition.

I have fond memories of walking to Meinen Field with my mom to see Chiefs games during the summer when I was a kid....this jersey evokes positive thoughts of a hometown that is now miles and miles away. Thanks to Jim for this tremendous opportunity!

A nice pickup for me this month.
For the fourth year in a row, the Lakewood (NJ) Blueclaws became the Bruceclaws for Bruce Springsteen Appreciation Night. So the single A affiliate of the Phillies wear special Bruceclaws jerseys for this special game (which turned out to be a doubleheader. So the single A affiliate of the Phillies wear special Bruceclaws jerseys for this special game (which turned out to be a doubleheader. Hello all,

So despite losing my job in the next 50 days, I have managed to continue to expand my collection of Evan Longoria game issued bats. I have just added to my collection one of his block lettered models potentially from his first ever LVS order. Per BMH, Evan's agent ordered him 6 block lettered black Model I13 M9's. And because it wasn't Evan or the team ordering them, they put Louisville Slugger under the name plate vs. the Team name. I looked long and hard for this one! I now have at least 1 bat from his 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 seasons! If anyone can get me one from 2011 I would appreciate it! ;)

Won this tonight in a charity auction at the Nashville Sounds game - they wore alternative jerseys for the Ronald McDonald House - the "shirts off their back". This is an Eric Farris game worn jersey from tonight.

Even better, it's also a tax write-off!

Second scan is the "Ronald McDonald" patch on the left sleeve, the size tag and the badge I was given to go onto the field to "claim my jersey".

(I'm the only one who got the jersey signed on the number...everyone else got it on the "Sounds" part of the jersey on the front)

Last out baseball from a game between the Red Sox's and Yankees on July 3rd, 1934. Rube Walberg wrote the details of the game on the ball, comes with a letter from his Daughter. Myril Hoag made the final out of the game, just think that this ball could have faced Ruth and Gehrig back in the day. Gehrig also had a homerun during this game.

A tough to find rookie era/WS Champs early bat for the Reds '75-'76 team collection. It has a certificate from the Reds 580 Gift Shop, nice pine tar, red bat rack streaks, number on knob and very heavy overall use, especially on the barrel.
