Not CERTAIN of GU, but this one is an unusual bird.. 1964 (?) St Louis Browns throwback (1944 style) possibly used for the 20th anniversary celebration game of the St Louis vs St Louis World Series. This is a New Era and research does not show them EVER making this style as a Cooperstown Collection item:

Just curious, how do you differentiate between sweat stains and dirt stains on a cap? Are the white marks always sweat stains? IDK, but do players sweat that much in places besides the brim?

The white marks on my Tim Hudson hats are sweat stains. Players do sweat that much and especially Tim Hudson who has no hair, so the hat is the only thing between it, and his head since he has no hair.

Definitely on the top, made even better when I showed it to Albie. The look on his face When I brought one of his bats and his cap was priceless. Be was shocked when he looked at it and realized it was one of his!!

LOlL. I never thought about the hair aspect until I got my Edmonds Angels cap which had a few hair strands that were the right color and length. Who knew???

Game used hair from the player that wore the cap? It is definitely a possibility, but remember that caps usually pass through several hands along the way and get handled and tried on by others, so you never know. It is great though when the hair is embedded and not loose. Can't you just see an auction house advertising a game worn cap with embedded hair? :)
