What is this strange mark?

Hey everyone,

I picked up a game used MLB ball this weekend, and it has a strange mark on it that I was hoping you all could help me figure out:



I'm no expert on game used baseballs, but I have a handful of other ones, none of which have this mark...it looks like it says something along the lines of "? O A" or "? 0 4."

Any ideas?

all baseballs are marked with an ink if you hold a blacklight up to it you should be able to read it. in the rawlings factory they mark every ball with the ink so if there is s defect they will know who produced the ball.that is what it looks like to me could be wrong

It looks like that's what it could be...strange though how it shows up so clearly without a black light.
