Anyone familiar with the 1996 All-Star game: Was it common for players to have a home jersey (say of the Astros) made up with the All-Star game patch on the sleeve for use in the festivities?

Chris-

This is the same seller that is selling the Roger Clemens jersey that is mentioned in the Current Auction Items thread. The National League was the home team that year so the All Star patches were sewn onto the home jerseys of the National League All-Star players. I have attached a photo of Mike Piazza wearing his home jersey with the All-Star patch:

The jersey would be nice if it is legit. As I mentioned in my other post, this seller specializes in buying blank Astros jerseys, customizing them, and then normally has them signed and re-sells them.

Is a 1996 All-Star game worn jersey more rare and valuable than a regular season 1996 Bagwell home jersey? Absolutely. But who can be sure that this jersey was really issued to Bagwell for the All-Star game, or to Bagwell at all?

I have never purchased from this seller, so I can not comment on his character. I just know it would be easy for him to get the jersey customized and add an All-Star patch to the sleeve because he customizes jerseys.

The size 46 seems too small to me as well, granted Bagwell wasn't that big earlier in his career, Adam Everett and Willy Taveras almost wear that size jersey. I'm staying away.

Shady seller, I know from experience. Check the Clemens thread astros*bats mentioned for both stories of my dealings with them.
