I thought Marucci was one of the bat companies that ALWAYS had the date on their bats. Much like Rawlings.

I agree with Brian. Marucci's always had the mm-dd-yy dates on the knobs on pro model bats. The retail and bats made for the public do not have date stamps on them.

so what does it mean if it has only his initials or only his uniform number is on the knob? is that retail, pro model, or maybe minor league model.

I notice many player signing brand new marucci bats that look like the model they use in games. is there anything to differential a game model promo (made for signing bat) versus a game used bat. I learned recently the way to differentiate a Hickory bat and thought there may be a slight difference for Marucci's too

I was told that a players initials are stamped in the bat when they are in the Minors, and player's number when in the Majors. Make sense since numbers tend to change when they move up.

Thanks,

I thought that was the case too, but I asked Marucci and they said between the letters and the the #'s, that's up to the player making the order. Minor leaguers can do #'s too. That Cardenas bat did not have the date length or weight under the knob, so my guess is maybe a friend or family member ordered the bat from Marucci? Not sure on that one...

Does anyone know for sure? I am thinking in 2010 or 2009.
