Can anyone tell me if professional model Louisville Slugger M9 bats (natural color) are branded, foil stamped or something else? I have heard that professional LVS natural bats are branded but I do not know about the M9's.
Thanks for any help.

They are actually stickers that are applied to the bat. I have examples of both blonde and black bats and both have the same sized sticker. They are in different colors of course to stand out better in each respective color. I remember another member mentioning the reasoning is that stamping the maple would compromise the integrity of the bat. Meaning that it made it weaker and more succeptible to breaking than if the bat was not iron branded like regular models.

The center brand label is, indeed, a sticker. On the barrel, the model number, player's name and team are either foil stamped or laser etched. Here's a link to a photo that shows both examples -- the Pujols is foil stamped, the Matheny is laser etched.

Jeff,

I found this pic of a Manny M-9 (Natural) that is laser etched.

With the foil stamped bats it seems the lettering on the barrell fades off pretty easy. Seems especially Pujols bats.??
