    Sutcliffe Pants

What aer your opinions on these Cubs game used pants listed on eBay? I'd like to get them if they are indeed Sutcliffe's pants, but the writing on the inside that says "Hammer" kind of bother me. I know he was nicknamed "Sut" or "Red Baron", but I've never heard him called hammer. What do you think? Any info would help. Thank you.

    They're Sutcliffe's pants.

Minor league teams are the source for the majority of handwritten names and numbers inside pants waistbands and pockets. Hammer was almost assuredly someone in the minors who wore them. The Cubs, in that era, routinely sent pants (and some jersey) down to their lower minor league farm clubs for additional use.
