Paul O'Neill on taping his bats

I was watching the Yankees game last night and Michael Kay pointed out how Nick Swisher had zero pine tar on his bat. Then Paul O'Neill started admiring the tape job. It looked like a classic O'Neill tape pattern. Then he spoke about how he started taping his bats in Cincinnati after Dave Conception showed him how. O'Neill said how much better the bat felt and looked with the tape and a little bit a pine tar. I always find it cool when players talk about their equipment and how they prepped it.

I had access with the NHL and always loved watching the greats tape and customize their sticks!!! Hockey players are so great they always loved answering any questions to why they did them certain ways. Man do I have stories!!!

I also zeroed in on Paulie talking about taping his bats
I was hoping he would continue on the topic but he didn'tIt would have been nice to get more insight from him about his bat prep
He always had the best looking bats of all the players during the 96-2001 run

Him and Griffey always had my favorite bats.
