How long are you going to be in KC? Which day are you planning to go to Kauffman? On Sunday Willie Wilson and Dennis Leonard are signing autographs.

For Kauffman, Friday night games can be pretty crowded, generally 30-35k. Mostly because its Buck Night and Fireworks. If you go Friday, definitely plan to get a seat you want to watch most of the game from as it gets pretty crowded.

If you go any other day, I'd recommend getting a cheap ticket. Either get seats in LF in front of the fountains or get an upper level nose bleed ticket. Generally you can walk around the lower level and either stand in RF in front of the fountains on the Party Deck, find some empty seats towards the OF, etc. Lately, I've really enjoyed just meandering the stadium and watching a couple innings from various vantage points. There really isnt a bad sight line in the house.

If money is not an issue, the Crown Suite is incredible, field level, behind home plate with seat side service and a huge buffet. But tickets are $200+ I think.

Definitely check out the Royals HOF display before the game. Obviously, it is the Royals, so its not as grand as some teams with much longer histories, but there is a loan from the HOF, which currently includes some Hank Greenberg, WWII stuff, and a Ted Williams game worn jersey from... I think '46 maybe, cant remember. Also George Brett's 3000th hit and all of Frank White's Gold Glove Awards. And the purported Bo Jackson all-star game HR bat. Not sure if the Pine Tar game bat is still there or not, but the 3000th hit bat is much more tarred up than the 3k hit bat anyways.

Also check out the statues behind CF. There is a bar/restaurant in LF foul on second level - .390 Club. And a bar in RF behind bullpen - cool view from the roof.

If you have some time besides the game, I can give you some tips on BBQ. For night life the two best places to go is the Country Club Plaza and the Power & Light District. If you need a morning/afternoon activity or two - the best two are the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the the National World War I Museum - largest collection of WWI artifacts in the world.

Two other things came to mind...

Chiefs Arrowhead Stadium is literally next door a hundred yards away... You might check to see if they will be offering tours of Arrowhead Stadium the day of your visit.

Kauffman Early Bird Game Day Tour... I've not been, but have heard good things - I don't think it covers clubhouse and stuff that you normally get in the non-game day tours, but gets you in for BP.

Thank you for the Info! I will be there for the Saturday game in which they are giving the Jokim Soria bobblehead. I didnt plan it that way but I am pretty cool its a give away day. I will only be in town from the time it takes me to drive from St. Louis on Saturday morning until Sunday morning. I do hope to hit up a real bbq place though! Hopefully for lunch on Saturday.

For local craft beer and one of the best brewers anywhere, you should drink Boulevard.

If you left St Louis around 8am, you should be in KC around noon with plenty of time for BBQ and one or two of the NLBM, WWI, and CBE.
