View Full Version : Need someone to do me a favor.
If someone is watching the Phillies play tonight could you check to see what brand bats Rollins and Utley are swinging. They both called up requesting bats. Rollins, a P147 in clear and some in black. Utley wanted a P147 with a M356 knob. I was hesitant to make the bats for Utley since I know he is a Marucci guy and has done some web videos for them.
I know they were swung in BP but our rep had to leave.

Brian,
Watching the replay here in Philly now in the final innings. In the 7th he broke a bat and 2nd bat was a Marucci. The broken bat, black with silver writing, looked considerably different, but couldn't get clear "look" to officially say what brand.
Hope that helps!

Utley was swinging a M9 in his first at bat.
I did take a picture before we boxed them Thursday.

Brian, was the P147 created for Pujols?
Yes, it was a copy of a SAM model.

... From some interviews with Utley he actually owns a stake in Marucci with some other players as well. My sons middle name is Chase, thanks to Chase Utley, we are huge Phillies fans

Ah, I didn't know that was common knowledge. That is one of the reasons I wondered why he wanted to order bats from us. I guess checking out how we are doing.

getting to be a bit common for players to invest in equipment manufacturers now huh??
Eric Chavez has Brown gloves and Diego bats
Adrian Gonzalez his Trinity bats
who else??
Utley, Pujols, Howard and I believe a few other Phillies have bought into Marucci.

In the article I read it was also mentioned that while Pujols invested, he still uses a different bat which I thought was odd.
On a side note you might be able to help me... Can a regular person buy a player bat Like the Utley for example? Was thinking about that the other day with someone talking about getting autographs. I said it would be cool to get it on their specific model but without getting it from the team etc..
We will sell player models to people other than the player only if they have permission from the player or his estate.
