NEW Item for the 'Cave' Today...

I've been working on a deal with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox for the last month or so and today it came to fruition...

Jason Giambi's GU / AU Colorado Springs Sky Sox jersey from his short stint there in 2009 before he joined the Colorado Rockies team... for those that don't know, I also own his 2009 Rockies uniform from his 1st game as a Rockie...

Hey Xpres how much did those maniquins run you? I wanted to pic a few up for football gear. I would def sculpt the faces to look like the actual player though.

Your Giambi collection continues to inspire me to keep adding to my collection of Memphis Tigers and Tennessee Titans. Though I'm not a "player collector" per se, it's incredibly awesome to see others focus on a theme.

Nice find Chris..I always wondered what became of that jersey,and had hoped to see it on MiLB auctions eventually..ah well.
This makes the second complete set we've got between us-Ive got the helmet from your Rox debut jersey,and the signed GU cap that goes with this SkySox one!!

Not sure where you live, but constantly check Craigslist and ads for local stores going out of business that are 'selling to the walls'. Also look for local used (or new and used) Store Fixture Stores.

The FULL Mannequin that Giambi Rox Uni is on cost me $80 from a local seller on CL. The 'headless' one with EY Jr Uni cost me $50 from a local sell - also on CL. The 'torso' mannequins have run me between $25 - $50 from local used store fixture stores, CL and garage sales.

I'm actually about to thin back some and outside of small player collections (Rose, Musial), I am probably only going to concentrate on Giambi, Holliday, Hamilton (Josh) and Nolan Ryan.

I had to keep this one under my cap and off the radar... when we went down a while back when G-Man was rehabbing, I went to the store (which usually carries some GU stuff - Helmets and Jerseys) and they were bare on GU stuff. I asked about the jersey and the clerk got the Merchandise Manager down there.

I showed her pics of the 2009 Rockies uni and she told me they usually keep the big name players for display, etc - BUT, since they would now have 2 Giambis (2009 and 2011) she would see if the GM would let one go. She took my info and it took about a month of back and forth to get it. It cost more than it is probably worth (except to you, I or Butch) but it is already signed and they agreed to write me the LOA for it which they don't usually do.

I bought a regular Sky Sox hat to get signed and put with it for display. Erin said she would email me after the season (which ended today) and let me know what all they might decide to part with. I think my tenacity about the Giambi jersey and coming through with my offer got their attention.

As far as my post here, I figured you would 'take a peek'. I couldn't just give it away!!!
