Any thoughts on this Bench bat with a felt handle? I've never seen any pics of Bench using a bat like this. Bat records indicate that he used this model and length early in his career.

I cant speak to the felt handle but i do know that Bench did have special knobs made for some of his bats at least late in his career. I owned a early 80's Bench that had the wood removed from the edges of the knob and replaced with rubber posssibly due to damage done to his hands after years of catching. Could this be an attempt deal with some of the pain in his hands?
