Auction Houses Shipping Big Ticket Items

How do auction houses ship big ticket items costing $500,000? Do they ship $100,000 or $50,000 or $5,000 items the same way?

Well, I certainly wish I had experience buying $500,000 items!

All I know for sure is $100-$500 items are shipped in cardboard boxes with packing peanuts.

Most all auction houses have in-house insurance so they can use any carrier they wish. In simpler terms, if they sell a $500,000 item, they can ship it UPS with a signature required and their independent insurance company guarantees the value for them.

        Thanks--that answers my question.
