Litwhiler died September 23, at age 95.
He played for 12 seasons, all in the National League, from 1940-51. Stops included Philadelphia, St. Louis, Boston and Cincinnati.
In 1942 he was a reserve on the NL All-Star team and cracked a hit in a pinch-hit appearance.
