Ron Gant 1991 World Series Jersey on eBay

I noticed a couple problems with this jersey when comparing it to a screenshot from Game 3 of the 1991 World Series.

1) The "V" is sewn more to the right when compared to the screenshot. You can see clearly that the loop in the "V" is poking out of the piping, and the jersey in the auction is not poking out.

2) The World Series patch is sewn much higher in the screenshot



Opinions?


I'm still trying to find more video/photos from games 4 & 5, which were also played at home.

The WS patch is definitely lower in the auction jersey verses the photos.

The letter 'V' loops over the piping too as you pointed out.

See if you can get photos from the other games to verify if Gant wore the same jersey in those games too.

The auction jersey may be a backup jersey.

Here are a couple from Game 5 according to Getty and AP Images. I think they are too far away/small files to really help, but figured doesn't hurt.

I found Game 5 on VHS, and close up footage from that game indicates the letter "v" and World Series patch are consistent with the jersey worn in Game 3, per Kyle's initial post. That leaves Game 4 as the only possible game in which the ebay jersey was worn.
