Any jersey tied to the 1986 Mets/Red Sox World Series always interests me. Although I'm a Mets fan, Buckner is a big a part of the legacy of that series as any other player. No clue if this might have been worn in the series or if it's legit but nice to consider.

The photos are all favorable and supportive of its authenticity, but it's not the Buckner ball jersey. Game 6 was at Shea Stadium, so the Red Sox were wearing their road grey uniforms.

But could it be from game 3, 4 or 5? I wonder. The Red Sox apparently didn't have a set tag on their jersey's that era, so how would you know when it was used other than a photo match?

It's probable that a photmatch would be your best (maybe your only) bet.

No, just the year. The only Red Sox gamers that had a set notation from the 70s and 80s were the Rawlings road greys from 1987-91, with the standard Rawlings flag tags.

I don't get why people still make a big deal about this. The Sox lost the Series for many reasons besides Buckner and people 25 years later continue to pin it on one man. The guy had a great career with 2,700 plus hits.
