Just saw this:

Great cause, hope it goes for a lot, but does anybody else think they have grossly over-estimated the potential selling price?

$89,000.000 *FINAL BID* Closed Mon. Oct 25th @8:17PM CST.
Don't know if there was a Buyers Premium, could
not find that info anywhere on the auction site.
Obviously someone REALLY Wanted this ring!
IMO-Alittle Over-Priced for a Guy Who was Not even on the
2004 Post Season Roster, and only Pitched 28 Innings before Blowing out his
elbow, and missing the remainder of the Season.

I Guess Some People just have TMM (2-MUCH-$), But i am sure they will get a Nice Christmas Card from The Williamsons' since they just Pocketed about 40K of the Money!

I agree, it seems high. i was talking about it with a buddy of mine who is a big Red Sox fan, he said it might fetch more because he thought it was the first one from that team to hit an auction. Not sure if that's the case but if so, it may explain the higher-than-expected price.

This is like the 4th 2004 Red Sox Ring i have seen.
1 was a Baseball Operations/Frnt Office Guy
1 was from the Hitting Instructor in Latin America (He Sold BOTH his Rings awhile back for about 20K Each)
1 was from PITCHER Bobby Jones That Grey Flannel had which i believe was the 1st Players Ring to come out. Dont know Jones' Status in 2004, missed the Auction so never researched it.
