Hi Mike:

I would appreciate it if you could please let me know the specifics (i.e. lenght, weight, quantity ordered) of any Rickey Henderson 1990 World Series bats noted in the H&B factory records.

Thanks

Scott

Hi Scott--

H & B records document two orders for Rickey between the end of the ALCS (10-6 to 10-10) and the beginning of the 1990 World Series (10-16 to 10-20.) Either one of those orders, or possibly both, could be WS bats, labeled as such ( 1990 World Series .) Both orders, dated 10-15 and 10-18, are for three bats each as follows: T141 / 34 inches / 31.5 ounces / Black Finish. Both orders were invoiced to BB Promotions (with specified weight) , common practice for post-season play.

A quick review of two of Henderson's teammates, Willie McGee and Jose Canseco, also document that each of them received an order of 3 bats also dated 10-15 as well, which would likely be the WS order date for all members of the team. Thus, Henderson's documented order dated 10-15, with specifications above, was almost certainly three labeled WS bats. The labeling of the three bats in the 10-18 order whether WS labeling or regular season labeling, is unknown.

As an aside, 34 inch Henderson SBlack T141 bats were ordered in mass quantity in August, September, and October of 1990 by Anaconda-Kaye--- a total of 504 promo / souvie bats that would presumably have the well-known regular season 1990 labeling.
