Instead of getting the game used jersey signed , 8x10 of jersey?

I, like a few other game used collectors do not like game used jerseys to be autographed by the player. I was thinking of getting a very nicely shot photo of the jersey by itself as an 8x10 and then having the athlete autograph the 8x10 photo itself. Any thoughts on that? Does it have any type of appeal?

I wouldn't do it as a source of authentication, just for displaying with the jersey possibly. i have never done this, but the thought came to mind.

also, I am not refering to an 8x10 action photo, literally just a studio-type photo of the jersey. Refer to the stroughter below...

If you have a photo of him wearing the jersey in the game, and can get the picture signed, that may be a good idea. I have a photo matched Rocky McIntosh SKins jersey and want to get the 8x10 signed instead of the jersey itself.

I second the thought of having a game photo signed instead of just
a studio shot of the plain jersey....

Obviously a good photo would have to exist, but personally im not feeling
the signed 8 x 10 of just the jersey....

but in the end, presenation is everything, perhaps what you have in mind and what others have in mind are two totally different things, and since you will be the one admiring it most of the time, go with what your gut tells you!

Agree with a photo from the game if possible. I think it would also make a nice compliment.

A photo from the game is always a nice addition to a display if you can get one.

Just an example (wrong team) but I really like the way that the following ebay item looks. If you could have a picture made that resembles this, then I'd say it would look great. If you can't, I'd go with a game photo.
