    Natrone Means Chargers Jersey

I know there are some people who collect Chargers items on here, hoping to get some input

I just purchased this jersey. Unfortunately it is not game worn, however I am trying to distinguish if this jersey was in fact made for Natrone Means.

Does anyone know what size jersey Means wore? (Particularly for the '94 season) Of course he was a big guy, just not sure if he was a 54. Always thought it would be 52 or 50. This jersey I have is tagged a 54. Looks like a legit team issue jersey. Thanks for any help

54 seems way too big for Means. Especially with added length to it. Perhaps it was a jersey made up for promotional purposes? It seems more like a linemans size.

I have seen 1 true Means gamer from 1995 season and it was a size 50 long.
Although in his second stint with the Chargers I believe he did wear a bigger size. But I would assume 1994 would have been a 50 as well.

Thanks Eric, I'd appreciate it. I was hoping I could run into someone on here who owns a Means gamer.

I'm still pretty unsure about it. One interesting thing about my jersey is that it doesn't have spandex sides, that could possibly explain why it is bigger since it wouldn't have as much stretch to it without the spandex.

I haven't done a a ton of research yet looking at photos/video. This is a poster of Means I have which gives a pretty look at his jersey, although I still can't tell if his has spandex sides or not. The jerseys looks big/roomy though, could possibly be a 54 like mine. I'm not going to worry about it much. Whether it was made for game use or not, it's still a cool piece and i'm happy to own it.

In 1994 he wore a size 50 long (on a possible preseason jersey?) and 54 +4. When he came back to the Chargers in 1999 he wore a 54 +4.

If the Means jersey was used, it would likely be punished. These have tons of marks and are repaired in numerous places. The team also definitely had extra jerseys made up in 1994 and signed for charities and such. Most of them were the powder blues, which are often sold as "game worn" but are extras with no use.

            Hope this helps
