Is this rare? Old labeling on nem LS M9

I just saw this listed and the label is 2004-2009 with the smaller M9 logo on the label, but the bat date is 7/22/11. Is this rare, or a common occurence

Here is another Brian McCann bat with old labeling on it. This is the second instance in which there was old labeling on a McCann Louisville Slugger. These aren't my bats, I am just intrigued by the older M9 label on a new bat.

I checked the Birdbats website and there is no mention of the labeling making onto 2010 or 2011 bats.

It may sound funny but maybe he likes the old sticker and requests them to come like that.

If that is the case, its just like Nomar Garciaparra and how he wanted the old MLB logo put on the front of his bats even though LVS had moved them to the back
