    Champion sleeve logo back in 1983

    Although the NFL era of sleeve manuufacturer logos commenced circa 1989-90, Champion (who occasionally affixed the logos on NFL attire before that) actually began the practice with their USFL uniforms as far back as 1983.

    Pictured below is a 1983 Chicago Blitz Greg Landry jersey from the back. Note the small logo on the bottom of the left sleeve. That appears to be the beginning of the practice for pro football.

    Here are photos of couple of other USFL jerseys with Champion sleeve logos. The #77 is a Memphis Showboats jersey (first two photos), and #65 seen in the last two photos is a New Jersey Generals jersey.
